Result | Win for pilgrims by 9 wickets |
So the start of the 2014 season saw us take on Lyndhurst & Ashurst. Lyndhurst & Ashurst opened the batting with Lee Hopkins and Harry Rendell opening the bowling for Pilgrims.Runs came slowly before Lee clean bowled the opener with the score on 23.At the other end Harry was bowling well with no luck at all before he got his just deserve with a wicket in his last over a catch taken by Mike Meadon who last played for Pilgrims 32 years ago.Nick Birt took over from Lee who turned in very impressive figures of 6-3-11-1.At the other end Matty Hollier took over from Harry(8-0-32-1).In the next 16 overs Nick and Matty concedded just 47 runs taking 6 of Lyndhursts wickets, with Matty taking all four of his wickets in the last 4 overs. Rendy, Wani and Craig all turned their arms over before Lyndhurst were all out for 132. After a great tea Matty and Tyrone carkeet opened the batting for pilgrims. Runs were hard to get in the first ten overs but soon the scoreboard was rattling along with both Matty and Tyrone reaching their 50's.Tyrone was eventually bowled for 62 with the score on 102. Craig Dennett joined Matty at the crease and this seamed to be a signal for Matty (62 no) to open his shoulders and take the score on to 133-1.A big thank you from all the team to all the families, friends and Ex Pilgrims who turned up to give us thier support. |
